Phillip Island is a substantial island at the maouth of Western Port Bay, placed short of what two hours drive from Melbourne in Victoria. In light of its nearness to the state capital, its a well known weekend vacationer destination, particularly throughout the mid year months. The island is differentiated from the terrain by a channel and is associated by an extension. It is a piece of the Bass Coast Shire of Gippsland.
