Last weekend we choose to visit Golden Temple at Vellore,This is my second visit to temple after three years why we planned to this place is by the end of the day we can reach home(anyway it depends up on traffic),and this is not much longer distance from Chennai. This is one of the Largest Golden Temple in world with more than 1.5 tonnes gold used.
All the gold work was done by artisans specializing in temple art using gold. Every single detail was manually created, including converting the gold chunks into gold foils and then mounting on the gold foils on copper. Gold foil from 9 layers to 15 layers has been mounted on the etched copper plates. Every single detail in the temple art has significance from the vedas.
In return We vist Vellore Fort constructed in 16th Century by Madurai Nayaks considered to be among the best of military architecture in Southern India and is known for its grand ramparts, wide moat and robust masonry.Jalagandeswara Temple is noted for its sculptures, and speaks volumes of the exquisite craftsmanship of the highly skilled artisans of that period.
